Interpretation Services
Although they are at their core very similar animals, Interpretation and Translation are, practically speaking, quite divergent. Whereas translation relates to the written word, interpretation deals with speech. Interpretation is seen as the more difficult of the two, as it requires a very quick mind and a creative tongue.
It requires years of experience to perfect one’s skills as an interpreter, and the service is absolutely indispensable in certain situations. The best ones interpret without bias and with such skill that the language barrier is easily navigated, and sometimes entirely forgotten. Indeed, an interpreter is doing the job best when barely noticeable.
At Bel Air Language Services, our interpreters offer a full range of services, each one appropriate to its specific circumstance. They are available every day, at any time you may need, and will connect to you with exceptional speed once you’ve placed your request.
Over the Phone Interpretation
Will over-the-phone interpretation suit you needs? We are highly experienced in this field, and our service is exceptional. It is also exceptionally convenient. Clear, competent 3-way over-the-phone interpretation is a mere phone call away. This service is quite flexible, working for person-to-person calls, conference calls, or even for face-to-face meetings.
On Site Interpretation
Perhaps you would prefer on-site interpretation. We offer several options that are sure to meet any need you may have. Our on-site interpreters will be happy to assist you anywhere, anytime, & for any length of time. They can help you at your office, in the conference room, or even accompany you on business trips abroad.
Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpretation
We offer both consecutive and simultaneous on-site interpretation. With Consecutive Interpretation, your interpreter will stand beside you and take notes while you speak in segments, then quickly interpret for your audience, and vice-versa. Consecutive interpretation works great with informal audiences, and your interpreter will sit down with you and help you figure out exactly how to approach the situation.
For other situations, your interpreter may offer you Simultaneous Interpretation. It is just as it sounds; the interpreter renders a translation for the audience as quickly as can be formulated, at the same time as the source-language speaker is speaking. This is typically done in a soundproof booth with microphones and headphones involved… if you’ve seen U.N. meetings on T.V., where the ambassadors are all wearing headphones, you have a good idea of the simultaneous interpretations service we offer.
In addition to our voice interpretation, we also offer sign language. This has been especially useful for doctors and health-care providers, who have been using this service from us for quite a while now.
We are quite proud of our interpreting department, and strongly urge you to contact us and see for yourself.
